Membership process FAQ

Q: How do I join the BRC Shooting Club?
A: The BRC Shooting Club is a 22LR rifle club, funded, maintained, and operated by its members.
To join the club you will become a member of the club.
All BRC members start as probationary members and the probationary period lasts (minimum) 12 months.
During this time, you will be expected to attend the club on several Sundays (at least 6), take part in range maintenance, attend the BRC Safe Handling course and obtain a firearms license for a 22LR rifle.

Q: How do I start the process of becoming a BRC member?
A: We have had a lot of interest in the club since the end of lockdowns etc.
As such (since September 2022), we have developed a starter program, which consists of introducing new members to the club with introduction sessions on the first weekend of every month.
The introduction sessions cost is €150 and will include the first club tour, where we will show you around the multiple ranges, talk you through our procedures and supervise you shooting at a target.
After this session, you can attend the club on Sundays where you will be able to meet other members, learn about different rifles and scopes and understand in more depth the safe operating procedures of the Range.
Additionally, your insurance for the year will be included in the initial €150 as too is the BRC Rifle Safe Handling course, which you will need to attend (one-day event) within your first year to become a full member.

Q: How much does it cost for membership?
A: The annual fee is payable @€325, reduced pro rata (if applicable) and we will reduce this by €50 from the initial €150 paid for the introduction sessions, so first-year club fees will be €275.
As such (since September 2022), we have developed a starter program, which consists of introducing new members to the club with introduction sessions on the first weekend of every month.
Q: What about a joining fee?
A: As the BRC shooting club is funded by its members, a joining fee has always been in place and ensures that the club’s costs can be met.
Before committing to the club (or the sport), we allow new probationary members up to 6 months to understand if they want to continue and pursue full membership. After this time, if you want to continue in the club there is a buy-in fee of €1000, which is payable over a 3-year period.
Once your probationary year is complete AND if you have fulfilled membership requirements, you may then also buy a key, (€10) to the club which gives you access any day of the week.
